View Full Version : Membership Drive!

I'm officially declaring the month of October to be "Membership Drive" month.
Whoever brings in the most new members by the end of October will get some sort of prize. I haven't decided what, yet, but it'll be something nice.
I'm not talking about people registering and never coming back, they'll have to be semi-active new members.
Whenever you bring in a new member, after they register, post a note in this thread with the new member's username so I can keep a total.
Hit the streets, yell it from rooftops, post banners on the front of your house, tell each and every person in the staging lanes the next time you're at the track. Whatever it takes, go do it!
Good luck!

hmmmmm nothing really. Just thinking best way to advertise
this site. Just telling people about it dosen't seem to work,
or least hasen't for me so far. It seems to work better when
visiting other sites people get curious and check it out.
It may be just the people I have spoken to but these racer aren't into
the computer thingy. Alot of old school guys.
Maybe you could post a flyer we could down load and pass out at the track.
Most peoples minds are not on a computer site at the track. But
a flyer they might look at when they get home. Thus :-k

That could work!
The problem with that is that I have absolutely NO artistic ability whatsoever. My kid yells at me when I draw stick figures for people. ;-)
So... If anybody would like to take a crack and a flyer, I'd be more than happy to put it up.

Mikel I was thinking about doing this also. I was gonna do bussiness cards using the logo. I would Just have someone add www. and .com to your logo and print them out using Microsoft works.

Thanks, I laid it out Mikel re-worded it.
I thought the same thing. But Figured I would use pictures of cars I new would have no problem with me doing so. As far as I could see we only have pictures of mopars at the track. I should of asked JZ if he would mind if I used his Mustang. Thought of down loading a couple from e-town site. But that would of suggested they were affiliated with us

Way to go Tony!
I'm so far out of the loop, it’s been 6 years since I raced, I left the automotive industry for technology, no one at work or in my neighborhood is into racing. Thank God I can hang out at places like this to get back into the groove.

Good deal. I passed out some at Atco and Englishtown this weekend.
I wanted to give them to the guy at the gate, but forgot all about it. By the time I remembered, the place was already jammed, I figured not many more people would be coming in.

True.
I had Phil (I think) from Numidia contact me not too long ago, he was interested in what was going on here. I told him we could make this the "Numidia Forums" home (we've got a forums for there already), I think he said he'd get back to me on it. I haven't heard back from him, though.

LOL... I'll see what I can do about the shifting guy.
I'm still not sure where I'm racing this year... I'm not even sure what I'm doing with my car, either. I was just gonna slap some Wilwoods on the front and go racing, but it looks like I might be pulling the motor out and doing a re-ring job on it (at least, maybe more).

Mike, I like Tony's idea about going to island, wearing the shirts (I know I gotta buy one) an spreading the word.
Seems to me, the biggest draw to these sites are the tech related sections. How to, what if, where is, ya know. Maybe a database of tech articals would help draw new members. I don't think schedules and special events are enough. Tech articles could be gleamed form just about anywhere and posted here with credit given to the author, of course. Wadda you think?

That sounds like a good idea. I'll keep my eyes open for stuff. You guys do the same, if you see something that looks useful let me know, or post it in a few thread and I'll create a "tech archives" forum, or something.

I found a place that'll make the URL, though... It's 2" x 42.50", $16.50 each plus shipping. The more that I order, the cheaper they'll be - 5-9 are 30% less, 10-24 are 35% less, etc.

Dan, Car is in shop. The 4:30's are in and set. The reverse
Griner manual valve body and 4.2 lever is in and new 3500-3600
torque convertor is on. Having a custom pedestal made for the new reverse Hurst pistal grip quarter stick (still have the bench seat).
Then I have to go for a fitting  for the correct height and
comfort. :p Was real tough column shifting.
Should get it back in about a week. Then break in the rear. Hopefully ready for mid April.
When I was a young man I did all the work myself on my back in my
driveway with drop lights and 90 wt. in my hair. Not anymore.

That's sounding real good, Tony. "Going for a fitting"....sounds like you're buying a suit. Just be cautious if the guy asks if you dress left or right
I'm also blessed with a GOOD wife. We have an understanding; I won't ask her how much she spends on clothes and she won't ask me how much I spend on car parts.
I still prefer to do the work myself, for several reasons. I've had bad expierences with lousy mechanics who overcharge and don't do what they say they did. Secondly, I get alot of satisfaction from accomplishing something that most people would never take on. Thirdly, I have alot of free time and if I wasn't spending time on the car, I'd just be getting into trouble. Later,
