Well Today I did what Mikel did last week. Got the car off the trailer and into the garage. Anti-freeze is in, so I won't break the block. I've done that before. Cracked my 383 block right between the freeze out plugs. The dang things never popped out of the block.
Now comes the fun part. Planning the winter attack ont the Demon.

Sad day. To bad about that block. Is your garage heated?

No heat in the garage except when I fire up the kerosene Redi heater, like a salamander.
The problem is that I don't have any insulation or sheetrock, so the heat just goes right out the roof vent.I really need to wire it and put outlets in all around the walls, then sheet rock everything, including insulating the ceiling and sheet rocking that. It would make it a lot brighter in there also, with the walls and ceiling done.
I think I up loaded a pic with the Dart in the garage.

Well The Demon is up on jack stands, that's a start.
Next up is to pull the tranny back just far enough to change the torque converter. Going with a custom built ATI with a 4500 rpm stall. Should help get the 60' times down, I hope. My thoughts are it will get the 340 into where the power is being made. I hope this works. I would think this engine would be able to run mid 11's without a problem. instead of the mid 13's I have seen so far.

Tony, did you get the pictures I sent?

Yes I got them. Thanks. Look good. I'm gonna see
what happens with the drag radials.
They overhooked last time out. Once the 4:30's are
in I'll be able to tell what I'm gonna need.
Car should go into shop in 2-weeks :D

Dan, the last time at Island I had the mechanic with me.
He is the one who said this. Said the car isn't launching
hard enough and the drag radials are cupping some.
Gonna adjust the convertor first.
It lauches harder on the street with a little spin.
So it might be bogging the engine slightly off the line
without that little give. My convertor is set at 3200 gonna
get a little more out of it first. I always thought no slip was best.
This guy runs 8 secs. Only races for big bucks.
Seems to know what he's talking about. When at the
track lots of people comming up to him asking if this
was the car (me) they would have to watch out for
next season.

Tony, seems to me that if the tires are cupping, an increase in air pressure would fix that. What air pressure do you run at the track? Also, cupping or not, a bog off the line is commonly caused by either timing, or maladjusted air-fuel ratio.

16lbs last time out.
Maybe I didn't say it correctly when I said cupping.
I didn't mean concaved like from too little air pressure.
If you have seen drag radials the have cross sectioned
type tread.
The cross sections are actually lifting and curling from the
front side of the tread in foward rotation.

Gottcha. Sounds like the best thing to do is to spring for some slicks. Mount them on their own rims and you're good to go.

Thats the plan for next season. Although I prob won't do it untill
I see the results of what I am doing. But I will keep the cash
for wheels and slicks in reserve.
