My results from this weekend...
Wasn't such a good weekend. We had a really good time, though.
Friday night practice: .022 RT 1.900 60' 12.815 @ 106.69 .094 RT 1.881 60' 12.831 @ 106.13 .090 RT 1.907 60' 12.896 @ 105.96 .083 RT 1.869 60' 12.727 @ 107.36 (found a vacuum leak before the run) -.115 RT 1.870 60' 12.678 @ 107.73 The last run, I zoned out or something, when I looked up the tree was coming down and I panicked. Ooops. Saturday, $10,000 race: .220 RT 1.847 60' 12.638 107.91 (1st run Saturday after a lot of drinking Friday night. ZZZzzzzzzzz) .018 RT 1.840 60' 12.580 @ 108.98 .049 RT 1.836 60' 12.558 @ 109.23 on a 12.60 dial (lost) .067 RT 1.860 60' 12.688 @ 108.24 on a 12.52 dial (lost after buying back in) Everybody else was slowing down as the day went on, my car was going faster. Go figure. Sunday we went to Englishtown: .189 RT 1.882 60' 12.752 @ 105.99 (ZZZZzzzzzzz) .012 RT 1.881 60' 12.707 @ 106.11 .054 RT 1.894 60' 12.780 @ 99.71 on a 12.70 dial (on the brakes, won) .097 RT 2.010 60' 13.125 @ 105.67 (car problem, lost badly) The first run Sunday the photographer was right next to my car when I was doing my burnout. I've been asking him all season to get a burnout shot of my car, I was so damn happy that he finally got a good shot that I blew the tree. Good thing it was a time run! On the last run the car just kinda eased it's way out of the hole and picked up at half track. I think there's an electrical gremlin bugging me. Sunday morning, I went to start the car and it woudn't start. It wouldn't even turn over... I thought I had a starter problem again, so I pulled the hood off and had a look. The starter was right where it should be. So I thought maybe the starter got jammed up or something, and tried to turn it over by hand. It moved, but only a very little bit. So I went back in and hit the start button, it fired right up. When I got home, I left the car on the trailer overnight. Monday morning, the car wouldn't start again. It wouldn't even turn over. I cranked it over by hand, then it started up. But it was blowing fluid out of the bottom of the valve cover on the driver's side... Cooling fluid. Looks like I either have a blown head gasket or the intake gasket. I'm really hoping it's the intake gasket. The oil has a bunch of water in it, too. So, now the season's over. I've got to make some room in the garage for the car, and it looks like I have to start pulling it apart to see what went wrong in there. Then I need to locate the electrical gremlin. And replace the crappy alternator. And the crappy brakes... |
Here's a couple of pics from Saturday:

If it had to happen at least it happened at the best time,
End of the season. Keep us posted on what you find. Great lights. =D> |
