Dads Tool Box

My Dad recently retired as an auto mechanic. When he did he brought home his tool box and was going to throw out his old box from the 60's/70's that was at the house. I took it to preserve history, many a times I got in trouble as a kid not putting things back where they belong. I snapped some pictures of his stickers, figured I'd share.

This is the coolest. What year did Islip speedway close?

Dad had a 34 coupe way back before me. It had a 392 wedge motor. He was running 9's back when that wasn't so common. Kooks built him some headers for it and he stuck the sticker on his box

Cool stikers!
I remember going to Islip when I was in Middle School. And I don't remember going there in HS, or even hearing about it. Or else we would have been there for the drag racing. We usually went to National Speedway or E-town. So my guesstimation of when it closed would be around '70 or '71.
The begining of the end of racing on LI.
