Decent weekend of RACING!!

On saturday July 24, 2004, during test & tune they had a Gambler Race. I did good, ended up winning!! Won $160. Sunday wasn't as good. I won 2 rounds and lost in the 3rd round. Won $40 on Sunday. During first round , I found out my slicks are shot, SPUN off the line, a tenth slower to the 60 foot, Same thing 2nd round. I had real good lights both rounds, and ended up winning. I looked at the slicks before 3rd round, and there isn't very much left. So I dialed the car a tenth slower, but the car only spun a little , and I ran under. So on monday I called and ordered new slicks. I got 72 runs on the Goodyear slicks. My buddy switched to Hoosiers last year, he used to run Goodyears. He has 88 runs on the Hoosiers , and they still have 1/2 the thread left. So I ordered a set of Hoosiers. My buddy also said that I won't have to do as big of a burnout with the Hoosiers. Also ,the Hoosiers are around $100 cheaper!! Hope they work!!

Where'd ya order them from?

I'm in need of new slicks too, and I've been eyeing the Hoosiers.

I ordered them from a guy I race with, he is a distributor for Hoosier. He actually beat me in 3rd round on sunday!!! I will be saving on shipping, this weekend there is a Divisional meet at Numidia Raceway. The Hoosier Display trailer is going to be there , so they are going to bring the slicks to the track. NO shipping charge!! My slicks are 32"x 13.5"x15" Hoosiers. My Goodyears were 32"x14"x15" .Hoosier has a different size rating than goodyear?? because they are actually the same heighth ,thread width, but tire sidewall section width is 3/4 inch wider.. He beat Jegs and Summit prices!! His name is Tom Correll, Correll's Garage- Bloomsburg, Pa. phone #570-784-7696. They drop ship right to you. You would be charged a shipping charge. Also, I was told not to run tubes, I was running tubes in the Goodyears.

How much did you get them for, if you don't mind my asking?

DARTSPORT 07-28-2004 03:08 PM

$215.00 each, plus tax. Total $455.80 . I paid $271.00 each for the Goodyears in March, 2004
