Alternator Wiring Problem
I have been having problems starting my car after about 2 rounds. The starter seems to be dragging, So I put in a high torque starter, remote
solenoid, and new ground cables and the problem is still there. I run an Alternator to the BAT side of my disconnect switch and noticed when I unhooked the neg. side it would spark. So, it seems my alternator is slowly draining my battery??? What am I doing wrong here? This is a bracket car with no wiring but the bare essentials. |
Is this a single wire alternator?
I think I read somewhere about it doing this. Let me see if I can find the info. |
Here, Read this. I know it's a Mopar site, but it is about sigle wire alternators and how they stay HOT if connected directly to the battery.
Hopefully this helps the one problem. http://www.bigblockdart.com/index.php/topic,7284.0.html Norm |
Thanks Mopower71, this may be what I needed to hear.

Your welcome.
Looks like a solinoid in line keeps them from working when the engine is shut down. Let us know how it works. |
