It's alive! (again)

WOOHOO!

The new pushrods are in, adjusted properly. 3-4 threads showing under the rocker. Much better than before.

The new battery is in - I finally broke down and bought one of those Optima red-top jammies.

I finally found a PCV/Breather that fits properly, that's in on one side. I need a grommet for the breather on the other side.

The car has been sitting on the side of the house with a rag over the carb for the last month and a half or so. I haven't even touched it. I put the new battery in, pumped the gas once and hit the ignition. Fired right up! I love this motor.

Now all that's left is to find the right grommet, put the driver's seat back in, and get the lights on the trailer working.

Then I'm ready to go racing again!

WOOHOO!

=D> Congratz! Glad to hear your up and running again.
Don't think I could go a week without tinkering 8-[ .
Played with my suspension some today. Down to only 15'
of rubber. Getting closer. :doubt:

Ok, the driver's seat is in. Mounted properly, finally.

The trailer lights are OK, but the wiring on my truck is bad... Looks like I'm gonna have to re-wire the plug. I'm not happy about that. :-(

Did you find the problem with the plug on the truck yet?

Yeah, it was an operator malfunction - I was looking at the wrong diagram. The plug on the truck is fine, it's something on the trailer.

Thats a good thing. Easier to trace the wires on the trailer.

We have prblems with the trailor light on our Ram. We'll fix the and a month later they wont work again. I hate electrical problems

mikelbeck 10-23-2004 08:34 PM

Well, I fixed the lights on the trailer. Turned out that the plug on the trailer was no good, I replaced that. Then I found that that the terminals on the truck's plug were corroded, so I replaced that too.

Now, all the lights work just like they should. Just in time to get it inspected!

You have to get your trailer inspected in NY?

DARTSPORT 10-24-2004 07:31 AM

You have to get your trailer inspected in Pa. if it weighs over 3000 pounds.

Yep.

I went to move the trailer this morning, and found that it wouldn't move as long as the connector was hooked up to the truck. I disconnected it and the brakes unlocked.

I had two wires connected wrong. Whoops.

So now, everything's working - lights, brakes, etc.
