Server Move (AGAIN!)
Once again, we're going to be moving this site to a new server. Hopefully this will be the last time.
The host that I'm with has been excellent, we've had almost 0 problems until recently... And the recent problems just keep going on and on, and getting bigger and bigger. And it's taking longer and longer for them to be resolved.
So, I've purchased a VPS - which is a Virtual Private Server. It's one step below having a dedicated server. The new server should be more stable and faster than what we're on now. The best part is that I will have near complete control over it, so if there are problems I can fix them myself instead of waiting for somebody in tech support to get around to fixing them.
The downside (for me, anyway), is that it's more expensive than what I had before, so I'll be raising the prices for the new owenr of this site.
Nah, I'm kidding...
But a bunch of you had better sign up for hosting for your own websites sometime in the future!
Downtime should be minimal, or so I hope. I'll post a message when the move starts, and when it completes. The longest part will be waiting for the DNS updates to propagate across the Internet, as usual.
