About Diablo 3 item system

In Diablo games, item searching perhaps is one of the greatest fun. Until Diablo 3, its item system is bigger and better than previous, however, because its item system refines based on the system which used in Diablo 2, so it's not a thorough change

Currently there are some new item types have been seen, and a little has been revealed about buying Diablo 3 items online. Characters now wear shoulder pads and pants, in addition to all the other types of armor can be found in Diablo 2. Usually, the Diablo 3 weapons that Monk uses are various "fist" types, Monk's melee staves may be a new variety of staff. The Wizard-only short staves (which can be dual wielded with an orb in the off-hand) are a separate type of item in Diablo 3; not just the lowest level type of staff.

Diablo 3 items, even the small items have many changes. Maybe you can’t find Charms, runes, and jewels in Diablo 3 any more, but it adds many more types of gems, as well as many other new items, for example, the skill runes are socketed into active skills and add bonus effects of various types. These items can not provide benefit except when socketed into a skill.

Perhaps there are also other new item types, new varieties of weapons or multiple levels of jewelry, and I guess they will be announced before long. However, there were many very popular item types in Diablo 2 are not added in Diablo 3 until the expansion; regulation Diablo II has no jewels, charms, runes, or runewords; all of them came in the expansion pack.
