High School Comp

Do any of you guys hear about the high school compitions at raceway park? Im interested in entering next year and would like to know what im up agianst. Dose anyone know what typical cars and times the high school kids get? Im thinking about a 1987-93 5.0 mustang LX. Do you think i could get a decent one for around $3500?

I believe they run on the 1/8 mile. It's a great place to start and learn dial ins, cutting a light and playing the game at the big end. I'm a big mustang fan so you won't get an argument from me about that, however I think most will agree that an automatic car tends to be better for bracket racing. If you do prefer to grab gears, a shift light will help with consistency

From the RWP website

i knew a few of the kids in the class..the fastest was in a grand national, if i recall correctly..it was mostly mustangs and camaros, with a few imports. the kid with the GN was running around the same times as me (12.60s-12.70) and his dad had a 9 second turbo buick...
