Updates

Anybody doing any updates to their cars over this winter?
I am going to try and purchase a set of mon springs for the rear.
I also want to get the 2 1/2" exhaust off the car and set it up for 3" and proably no mufflers for now. This means I'll be rejetting the carb.
I also want to look into purchaseing a set of slicks.

I still need to get it up and running, not enough hours in the day...

Just the electrical left and it should be done (for now). I may have to call in some help ($) to get all the wiring done the way I want it.

Oh man, That sucks Walt.
Did it shear the splines off the spool side, or break at the flange side. Any other damage besides the axle?

I never pulled the axle to check. I took all the teeth off the ring gear earlier in the summer, and then it probably broke an axle. I am not putting any more money into 8 3/4's...

How wide is the rear, and what brakes are on it?

The rear is 39 7/8 axle flange to axle flange, with no brakes on. It has Wilwoods on it now that add 1/4 inch per rotor hat. Let me know if you are interested...

JZ,
Your car is coming together nicely.
That one interior pic of the wiring .... well that looks like a wiring nightmare.

Wow, that's almost 11" narrower than an a-body.
Didn't you put a dana in your Dart? You should have known the 8 3/4 was going to come apart, even though the K is lighter, you are pushing more power to it.

I knew the 8 3/4 was going to break, I just thought I would get a season out of it...

I am freshening up the motor, after running it for 2 years. Also taking the 850dp holley off. Changing to a 1050 Dominator. Hope to pickup 1-2 tenths.

I put the Wilwoods with the drum parking brakes on when I put the Dana in the Dart.

Rod bearing let go so I'm tearing down my Ty motor. Haven't raced since 8/05 so I'm hoping to finally get it done and get back out there.

Well doesn't that just suck.
I didn't get to the track at all last year, so I know how that feels.
How's the Syclone coming along?

The bottom of the Syclone motor is done. I only have a one car garage so the Ty is in there right now and the Sy is in storage. Here's the Sy engine mocked up.

When I get the TY back together I'll put it up for sale so I can finish the Sy.

I found a few issues last season that netted me just over 1/10th in the heat. I also took some weight out of the car. I am hoping to be in the 10.0 range in the better weather N/A. I am pretty sure I will be able to get into the 9`s at some point

Valley Chassis in Poughkeepsie is putting it in.

I planned on fore/aft engine limiters, shifter mount, modifying 1 piece of the tunnel so I can get the Glide out from the top and the new Dana with new brackets for 4 link, shocks and wheelie bars. I ended up with all of that plus; driveshaft hoop (previous owner never added/moved hoop when he went from 727 to Glide), Strange disc brakes, double adjustable shocks, new springs, new wheelie bars, new 4 link bars, replace front 4 link brackets, new bracket to relocate fuel pump, new fuel line(s), new shock crossmember...
