My 06 Season back to the track

Hi guys I figured I would jump in and get my feet wet. This season has been a learning experience for me. I made the switch from a small block to a big block in my duster so I needed some seat time to get back into the swing of things. I made it to the track toward the end of last season just making it into the 10`s with a 10.96 in Nov. Right now it`s going 10.81-10.83 with the mufflers and low 10.70`s uncorked with an 18" collector extension. A few weeks ago I tried out a 1" spacer under the Dominator was rewarded with a 10.93,10.94 and another 10.93. So that came off.

does the collector extension make much of a difference for you? I have tried many lengths of extensions, and they have never seemed to make much difference for me...

I have not made any back to back passes with and without the collector extension. I now wish I had. I might be going to another track rental at Atco in Oct or Nov that I will get enough passes in to see the difference.

What is the trick? whether or not it burns off?

Yep
You run a line down the pipe, and at the point where it's not burnt off, that should be the right lenght.

I dont know really...we started with a length of pipe roughly 2 feet long, maybe a shade longer. It seems that some people say "they dont do anything" and others tell me how much they will help...we still have them on now, and they dont seem to make much difference, but the engine is coming apart this winter, and it might be going into the demon, in place of a 360 in the mirada...

Im going to an all mopar track rental at Atco on the 18th of October. Im planning on trying a few different things to see what the car likes. This time I`ll see if the 18" collector extension makes a difference and im going to pull off my team G dominator intake and try the Victor with the dominator adaptor.

I go to Numidia Dragway for Test&Tune on saturdays. $35.00 for all the runs you want. I have made 12-13 runs, and track is prepped very well. Also won a Gamblers run at the end of a test&tune. Ended up making some money for the day...
